New Pandemic, Old Renaissance

This zine reinterprets classical Renaissance art through the lens of the existing COVID-19 Pandemic. Just as the Renaissance sparked a "rebirth" of knowledge, could this crisis catalyze a new renaissance? Each piece explores experimentation with imagery and typography, reflecting on this transformative era.

The Renaissance is generally described as taking place from the 14th century to the 17th century. In retrospect, the first initial case of COVID-19 was reported on December 31, 2019. On January 30, 2020, COVID-19 was declared a global health emergency, and by March was declared a pandemic worldwide.
